The first design was drawn in England. As the location changed upon arrival in Adapazari, Turkey  it meant the whole farm plan had to be flipped over to site the barn next to the trees.

The curtain wall and entrance were brick built to reduce set build time. The roofs were real. Local labour was recruited to paint every terracotta tile as grey slate.

Above drawings of the original farm by D.S.V.Fosten. Model built by Ian Weekley. Both featured in Military Modeller and used as design reference.

Text on my drawing was re-written on the tracing’s reverse by the Assistant Art Director to save a re-draw due to a change in location forcing modifications to the farm. The build was reduced scale and mirrored as action required the barn to be sited next to the wood.

We had no map of the overall location so the assistant art director and I paced out the area, triangulating the plan on the hottest afternoon of the build - about 45C.
